Shamrock Project

| Since 1981, Kappa Delta has been a proud supporter of Prevent Child Abuse America, an organization founded by the late Donna Stone, one of our own Kappa Delta sisters. To date, Kappa Delta has donated over $7.1 million to help prevent child abuse in our country. Thousands of KDs in hundreds of communities nationwide host "Shamrock Events" every year to raise money for national and local child abuse prevention efforts.
The Sigma Gamma Chapter at Kansas State holds an annual Shamrock golf tournament. Twenty percent of the proceeds benefit the national Prevent Child Abuse America organization, while the other eighty percent of the proceeds go to the Women's Crisis Center here in Manhattan. The money given to the Women's Crisis Center helps the center stay open.
Kappa Delta's annual Shamrock golf tournament has been held at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas, in the past. Colbert HIlls is a world-class championship golf course, named after former PGA golfer Jim Colbert, and home to the Kansas State Wildcats men's and women's golf teams. The Shamrock Golf Tournament has also been held at Wildcat Creek, one of the midwest's best golf courses with a great value.
